The ‘summons’ issued was without the Royal Seal or a ‘wet’ signature and thus a unlawful (or fraudulent?) document. Taking The Kangaroo Courts Down – One Council Tax Hearing At A Time!
Well, here's a thing ... when we went to Cwmbran we wasted 47 minutes of the courts time, we had 6 police officers in attendance (adding appx another £150 to the costs, 3 Magistrates, 1 Clerk, 2 Ushers, 2 Security Guards, 1 Council Solicitor (whose bill alone must have been about £400 for the hour). We totted it up and we estimate that our little venture to Cwmbran must have cost the court around £1,200 for the hour that we were there. [...more]

We asked why we hadn't received the courtesy of a meeting with the council official before we went into Gloucester court and the councillor, Mr Deveraux, turned round and said we did not have the meeting before the hearing because we have already heard of you! At this time he was looking rather flustered and alone and it was to his obvious relief the magistrates came back, the call to rise went out and we all stayed as we were. [...more]
